A very nice thing happened on the 3:23 train this afternoon. A woman who switched trains at Newark Broad Street (from the 3:17 Montclair train) discovered that she had left her wallet on the Montclair train. She immediately told the conductor in our car who phoned communications, got in touch with the conductor on the Montclair train, verified that the conductor on the Montclair train had the woman's wallet, and gave the woman the name and telephone number of the conductor on the Montclair train so she could make arrangements to get her wallet back as soon as possible.

This conductor did way more than he had to and should be commended. It's nice when one of our much maligned conductors does something special like this.

It's too bad that the conductors are maligned. I like them!

That was so true and it is not the first time that I have heard that a wallet was returned with all contents in tact. Thank-you Mr. Conductor it's nice to find an honest man

I have had multiple reasons to thank the conductors in my nearly 3 years of ridership to/from Hoboken. Within the first year, my wallet had fallen out of my purse, and I'd not noticed. Got home, and a little while later there was the conductor at my door with it! Turns out he lived in Irvington, was on his way home, and brought it. Several times I've left my ticket (which I do put my first name and home phone on) in the seat and the conductor has turned in to Lost/Found in Hoboken.

Really, I personally have nothing but praise for the conductors and NJT customer service. I find it shockingly reliable, all things considered, weather considered, and quite a bargain.

To the detractors, all I can say is try driving 40 minutes each way to work on 95 and similar. NJT starts lookin' REAL good....

And, yep, I have written letters etc. to NJT to speak about the conductors' service.
