Got this one today:

Dear friend,
As you read this, don’t feel sorry for me, because I believe everyone will die someday .my name is Mrs. Susan khalid, a widow and childless woman now due to a car accident that changed my whole life, I am a merchant in Nigeria . I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer which was discovered very late, due to my laxity uncurring for my health. It has defiled all forms of medicine, and right now I have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts. I have never particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone not even myself but my business. though I am very rich, but was never generous, I was always hostile to people and I only focus on my business as that was the only thing I cared for but now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world.

I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life in a different way from how I have lived before. now that god has called me through this way I have willed and given most of my properties and assets to my immediate and extended family and as well as few close friends. I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul, and so I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I did on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E Algeria, Malaysia and Idian.now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I can not do this myself anymore.
I once asked my family members to close one of my accounts and distribute the funds which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves.hence,i do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for the! m the last of the funds which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit it of thirty five million dollars($35,000,000 ,00) in Europe with a cargo shipping security firm in France Paris .

I want to know if you can be of good help to dispatch this funds to charity organizations have set aside 10%for you for your time and patience. May God be with you as you have decided to take a bold step to heal the world with me or even in my demise...?
Please reply to my private mail box mrs.susankhalid@yahoo.com
as I will only is busy accessing my private box waiting for your reply.

Best regards,
Susan Saidik Khalid

I think I dated her in HS. Even then she had a laxity about her that was quite disconcerting

Don't be so quick to delete this, ess. Ten percent of $35 million is still a lot of money. I mean really: what could possibly go wrong?

The fact that her illness has defiled all forms of medicine just underscores her hostility.

Anyway, I am on my way to meet her in Nigeria. I may have to make a pit stop in Idian, but the 10% makes it all worthwhile.

All you suckers are pooh poohing this. Wait until you see what I'm gonna buy with that money. He who laughs last...

AND it seems that I'm also likely to get other money. Evidently, I'm a finalist in the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes. It's not definite yet but I think I may be one of about 4 people. And I don't even remember entering the contest!

This is my lucky week.

I think that anyone who is willing to help distribute Susan's charitable funds should reconsider: I believe this to be a scam! Think about it - a childless widow does not have "immediate" family.

I have contacted Susan, myself, and told her of this mistake and she explained that it was just a typo. I have a hard time believing her excuse as I found the rest of her letter to be well written and grammatically accurate. So please do not have any further contact with her. I beg you.

I, too, contacted Susan, as her name seemed vaguely familiar. It turns out that she and I went to Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes together in Woodmere! Her father ran the Tom McAnn shoe store in Great Neck. After high school, I had heard that she went into the army to help pay for cooking school but didn't make it thru basic training. Something about missing materiel and "mishaps onthe range."

She drifted off to the west coast for a few years where I heard she fell in with some guy named Donald DeFreeze, who started a performance group or something called the "Symbolist Liberation Army" (SLA) and he took the stage name "Field Marshal Cinque."

After a particularly harrowing performance in LA, she drifted away again, only to turn up again in Waco, Texas. I heard she had found peace living with a holy man of some kind named David.

But, the house they lived in was condemned by the government, and she headed to Oklahoma City where she got work in a truck rental shop in 1995.

She got a job for a brief time a an intern at the Clinton White House but she blew that fairly quickly and after an extended camping trip with a lover named Ted, a brilliant mathematician, in Montana, thought it best to leave the country for a spell.

That was the last I heard of her until the email....
