Gold leather, but kind of distressed looking. Is that totally cheesy? They look kind of cool. Another woman in the store told me they'll look "awesome" with jeans, a funky belt and a "beater" (tank top—her words, not mine, I usually call it a guinea tee, my husband calls it a wife beater, you know...). My husband and kids gave them mixed reviews. |

VIG - YOU'RE questioning your own taste in shoes? Please. If you love them buy them, if not... don't. |

Hmmm. If you have the personality and confidence to carry it (which I think you do). My first visual was big, 1985 hair, single dangly earring and too much make-up. But, I haven't seen them. I know that bling is in, but I keep it to one piece that speaks for itself & lose the attention attracting belt with them. The tank & jeans would be OK, as you have the figure for it. |

Oh, they're bought. Question is, do they get returned? (I have 29 more days to decide...) |

I like belts (to break up the loooong torso). If I keep my makeup to a minimum (only 2 eyeshadow colors, subtle, I promise)...you know I don't have big hair, and if I wear dangly earrings I'll wear two. Then what do you say? |

I vote YES, too. Very sexy. I'm pretty sure that the Tin Man was wearing these very same boots when he was busted outside an unlicensed gay bar on Christopher Street for lewd and drunken behavior. |

Cool. Thanks. Emmie, they're an 8 1/2, but they're on sale at 9 west and www.ninewest.com. (If you order, they run a little big.) Now when y'all see me 'round town with my gold cowboy boots make sure y'all say "howdy". (BTW, I already have silver cowboy boot-ish mules, so this will add to my collection. The gold with all the embellishment just seemed a little more over the top.) |

Well, if you can wear those (and I do like them--with jeans) then I guess I can wear these! Absolutely fell in love with them but thought they might be "too much" for every day (That's beading on there, and they're actually sewn on, not glued)? Now I know they're not. Thanks. (BTW, that would be "ginny" tee, as in the derogitory term for obnoxious boys of Italian American descent) |

I believe that's "guinea" as in the pejorative for Italian. |

the closest I could get carrying off gold footwear is a pair of Gold Toe socks (then again, I did wear gold sneakers for Halloween a copy of years ago). |

Thanks, VIG. My only fear is that next year cowboys boots will no longer be "in" and we'll both be stuck with them for a decade 'til they come back again! At least you can pass yours down to your daughters. Doula, yes, a skirt, jeans, cords. I LOVE them! |

O.K. I was wrong. According to Answer.com: guin·ea A gold coin issued in England from 1663 to 1813 and worth one pound and one shilling. Offensive Slang. Used as a disparaging term for a person of Italian birth or descent. What do I know. I'm a WASP! |

Meand & VIG, I've had a great pair of cowboy boots (from an actual cowboy store - think they are black snake or some other reptile w/leather) for close to 20 years (& they were a big investment at the time)...whether they are "in" or "out", I wear them & feel great in them - just the right heel for just the right swagger! They are pretty beat up at this point, but also perfectly broken in... so I wouldn't be that concerned about something that you really love... they will be "in" for you & your own personal style!! (Not that you asked - just my .02) |
