My first time this morning. Wanted to try to address some back "issues" I've been experiencing for a month or so. AND, it's covered by insurance.

The Acupuncturist(?) was magic. Asked to look at my tounge and told me, after having seen it, I suffered from a lack of enery. BINGO. Although it could just be the tired haggard look I always have that gave it away. I laid down and she ran her hands quickly over my back and instantaneously identified all of my problem spots.

All day I've been walking around feeling a certain sense of physical calm, like after a good yoga class or a good workout. And, although my back is still not 100%, I do feel an improvement. The little needles went in, and I was left to rest for 20 minutes/half hour in the dark with tranquil music and nature sounds and a warm heat lamp blowing on my back.

Can't wait to go back.

I call it an "acupuncture high". Really unlooses a lot of good energy.

I agree ES&L--good "chi."

Joy, went to Dr. Yang on Prospect in West Orange, just down the block from Essex Green. Got her name and a few others from my insurance company, but Doulamomma knows this one and has sent clients to her.

Doesn't the water leak out of the acupuncture holes? Sorry, couldn't resist.

ESL:
Stay with me - it's related...
My dad is a biger jokester...hammer & chissel taken out with movie camera running when I had a loose tooth etc...
once during a long night drive I woke up & stuck my head out the window at a toll booth to look around. Dad rolled up the power (double) window & my neck got stuck...I'm thinking we've just gotten gas & will be driving for hundreds of miles - I start kicking the back of the seat & am told to stop it - nobody notices - I kick more & my mom turns around I guess & sees what's going on & yells for my dad to stop. So I'm sprung & we stop at some diner place & they get me a milkshake or something...dad tells me perhaps he should take it off my hands since it will just leak out of my neck! Ha ha - so not funny at the time even though I was fine...but the acupuncture joke is funny!

Doula--yikes, your dad sounds like someone who tickles too much until you almost pee in your pants.

Mr. T--trust me, the last thing you want from someone sticking needles in you is to find out what their concept of a "happy ending" might be. I always try to be very nice and polite to anyone sticking needles in my carcass.

Mr. T, ya lost me?

I'm a girl and a heterosexual, she's a girl......

My happy ending was the acupuncture high I had for the rest of the day!

Sorry, Me,

It was meant as a joke....a reference from an HBO show from a few years back called "Mind of the Married Man." I thought the show was hilarious but it didn't survive into a third season. I guess the target audience, horny Jewish men married to beautiful blond British shikses, wasn't big enough. It had a great cast and starred and was written by Mike Binder.

The main character very guiltily goes to a "massage parlor" and during the massage, the sexy Asian masseur says "you want happy ending?"

That phrase has made it into the vocabulary of many horny married men.

Aren't you glad you asked?

I remember that show, although I wasn't a loyal follower. And I certainly don't fit the description of "horny jewish married man." All of which would explain why ya lost me.

But thanks for sharing!
