I see there's a sign on eVinyards over on Springfield saying it's available. It's a good size space too. What can we get to go in there?

How about less snide remarks to start with. The joke is old. Let it go and move on to some real positive comments and suggestions. |

ironically enough, you didn't give a positive suggestion. If you want my serious reaction here you go -- I don't think any real potential business owners are looking to this thread for ideas on what establishment should go in that space. given that, I figured an absurd joke was ok. but maybe I'm wrong and someone out there is thinking to themselves, "hey MOLers want a Trader Joe's or a Thai restaurant, let's go for it!" |

Point taken. Here is a couple: UPS Store Thai Restaurant Indian Restaurant Clothing Store (either kid or adult or both) Home Decorating Store As far as Trader Joe's goes, it won't happen however why not stop by the new grocery store that is opening up on SA next to the Beaded Path? They will have the same type of food items. Organic and all natural products. |

A reasonably priced restaurant that has good food. I would love a quicky take out Italian (ala Pepe Rosso, Verde, Jiallo in the city) that cost less than $10 for a plate of fresh pasta and that delivers. This is SORELY lacking in our town. |

I think a home furnishings store like a Pier 1 would do well there. |

I agree with Dave. I hope the consultant we hired to help with economic development is working on this. How many square feet? How much parking? |

Old Navy would be great. The nearest one to Maplewood is Livingston Mall. It's a nice price point--not too cheap, not too expensive. And they have something for everyone: babies, kids, men and women. And maybe it would attract other like businesses and help "build" the Avenue. I know, dream on. |

And how many new businesses has this person brought to SA since they were hired? |

Anything healthy and vegetarian friendly interests me too. I am scared though that it will be much too expensive (ala Whole Foods and other specialty organic health food stores), one of those lame health food stores that really just only sell vitamins/supplements with the small yet obligatory frozen section. |

I don't care what would do good, I only care what we need (read: what would serve me). A Pier One like furniture store doesn't interest me at all. We so don't need that (read: I don't need it). |

Dave and Jamie ought to spring for a non-virtual, real live MOL Clubhouse. One room could have comfy chairs and couches, another room a boxing ring and wrestling mat and another room would of course be the hot tub. They could also give Jamie a room to do his stand-up routine and book Underground Concert shows. The place would always be packed although noone would admit to ever going there...just like MOL. |

There is no parking. How can we attract a good store to come in with no ample parking? You can't. Maybe the town should use the new eminent domain laws to eliminate all the homes behind the stores and set up parking lots there? Anyone? |
