...wish I had bought one I was just thinking of going out to start shoveling, but the way it's coming down I would just have to go back out in a couple of hours. |

So hubby is out of town and I go out to shovel. OMG, I have so much respect for people who shovel! My neighbors with the snow blower that usually help me out have moved. Two hours later, still shovelling!! |

Always wanted to buy one for Mr. BGS but he could never justify the expense. A year and a half ago my brother and his family moved out west...I jump on his showblower for $150 and Mr.BGS is very thankful for it today!! Even with the blower he has been out there for two hours in a little 50x100 piece of property... of course, he had to make a path for the bird feeder because he has taken a liking to the cardinal family that frequents our bird restautant and then he has to make a path to the garbage cans, and now trying to get the driveway entrance cleared since the town just came thru and plowed. Best $150 I ever spent I think. If you all lived near us I would lend you the blower. :-)

I think this snow was a 2-round storm. If you don't touch it until it's all over, it is going to be a really big job (and either dark or getting there)! |

Monster, Slight correction. It's BLOO as in Blooregaurd Q. Kazoo. That's his given name. (We just bought a little Opti for the kids and they named it Bloo!) In regard to the snow blowers...we have been the proud owners of one for 5 years. Today we had our first "incident". My husband dutifully picked up the snows toys and newspaper off of the driveway and began his plowing. CRUNNNNNCH! Some ding-song delivered two papers, in white bags, this morning?!! Blasted machine was jammed full of newsprint and took our oldest daughter and the less-than-patient husband a full hour to clean it out! |

Oh right, his "friend" - or maybe just someone about to become a witness in some scandal or another involving the administration? By the way, one to go - post number 999 |

I'm afraid the little moment of glory* we shared is about it, crazy_q, but that's OK - thanks for sticking around for it! I do think that a few friends think I'm nuts whenever I refer to MOL in conversation (perhaps a bit to frequently?), as it's just not a part of their lives... *Oh - perhaps I've gotten a bigger as a result? |

OK, we waited until 11AM this morning to clean off the snow. My free snowblower (thanks MOL) was finally used today for the first time. What I didn't realize is that the little snowblower can't do miracles. That was alot of snow. I needed to start a path by manually shovelling. The snow was sorta wet so it was heavy and kept clogging the machine. The blower didn't blow th snow far enough. It was a nightmare. Long story short, the snow blowe works but it woefully underpowered for a task like today. It took forever. I still needed to shovel out where the driveway connects to the street due to the wall of snow the plow dumped on me. Of course that is the HARDEST PART. I guess my back hurts less now than if I shovelled all of it, but still PHEWWWWW I'm exhausted. Very many hours. |
