I'm thinking of trying a tornado chasing tour this summer. Has anyone here ever taken one?

Yeah, I go every weekend.

Lots of waiting around and eating in bad restaurants. Mostly diners, actually. Turkey burgers aren't bad. However, avoid the cole slaw. Flapjacks in the a.m. Syrup is Kraft. Barely heated cabins, if you're lucky.

Why hasn't your wife cut this off yet? You haven't told her, have you?

Are you kidding? I'm being encouraged to go on a 6 month long tour.

Have you really gone?

Hang in there. We're due for a biggie like the Paterson twister of 1903.

My friend works for NOAA, and he is the one of the many who flies planes into tornadoes, hurricanes etc. He takes the mesurements that the weather guys/gals report to us. You know the size of the eye of the hurricane, the pressure etc. He said the scariest part of the whole thing is flying into the tornado or hurricane, he said the outter parts are the most dangerous.

Nope, but I have been chased by tornados when living in Illinois and Indiana as a kid.

No - the storms keep finding me in Florida...I don't have to go looking at all.

Andrea - that is very cool!
