I know that picture!!! It's from Japan, isn't it? The rodent was supposed to be dinner but never got eaten and they've lived together ever since? Love it! I think it was on an earlier thread, right?

How does it 'creep you out'? That the snake could at any time change it's mind?

I've always had snakes for pets (and so have my kids) so I guess I look at them differently. All G-d's creatures, as they say.

I love snakes. Can't say as I've ever thought of them as "cute"--more like "cool."

Hey scully, what's a good snake to get as a pet for young kids? Preferably not one that eats warm blooded creatures. Are there vegetarian snakes? Or snakes that eat insects instead of mice? Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I've always thought I'd like to get my guys a snake.
