Mrs. roof and I drove up from Orlando on Saturday AM and overnighted in NC, a few clicks from the VA state line. There wasn't a snowflake to be seen on Saturday, just rain. Sunday, based upon the The Weather Channel and media coverage, we opted to extend our stay until this AM to avoid the storm and poor travel conditions. We sighted snow just north of Richmond and more as we drove on to Jersey, but nothing like what the media made it out to be. I have no doubt that we wouldn't have been able to drive through on Sunday, but where the heck is the 21" and 2'-3'drifts we heard about. Looks to us to be about 12" max!(But still a very bodacious snow storm!!)
