Just read the sad news that she's got breast cancer.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

ditto
very sad
she is the cover model of last month's Shape magazine. According to the article she is healthier than ever.
that's what makes it extra-sad....it seems like no matter how well you treat your body, you are still vulnerable...

It is very sad. Too many women in their early 40s are getting this.

However, it was detected very early and the surgery was not radical. The fact that she is in such amazing shape will likely contribute to a speedy recovery.

I just got chills. I recently read an article in some mag at the gym, and I was so impressed. (Then a few weeks later finding out she and Lance called it quits.)

I agree with you Pippi & Ess. Seems like we're all vulnerable no matter what, so let's take good care of ourselves.

I was saddened to hear about her illness. She's in good physical shape and an avid runner. I'm hopefull that she'll make a full recovery.

Soak up the Sun, Sheryl. Get well, soon.....

I'm four years beyond breast cancer. It is survivable. I've been working full time most of those four years!!!

The scary thing is that younger women get the faster-spreading type, also harder to cure. Let's hope for good luck for Crow and other women in her position.

The good news is that with so much breast cancer out there, treatments have advanced a lot, and chance of survival is on the increase. The bad news is that there is so much breast cancer out there.

Jeez. I had just heard about the Lance thing--that they have parted. I was playing her greatest hits in the car, in psychic support, and it was sounding so good. Even my 13-year-old daughter thought so.

Now this. But she can do it. She can survive and thrive.

Any hint that he left after she got the news? Would be kind of callous considering he went through his ordeal with the help and support of his former wife. One would like to believe he'd do the decent thing and stick around to "be there for her" during her time of need--considering they were together for a few years and had planned to be married.

I heard Lance is dating a massage therapist in NY, and that was most likely the reason why they split. I think she was noble about it. I'm not sure what I would do.
I don't like pop music but she sure seems like a nice person and I wish her all the best.

Yeah - it's amazing how often dating someone else breaks up a relationship.

FWIW, my stepmom & my mom's best friend both had BC years ago. Ten and fifteen. No sign of recurrence. Caught early, the chances of a good outcome are so high.

Which is the best reason, girls (& anyone who loves a girl) to get that annual mammogram!

Next time there's a "who's funny?" thread I'm going to say Greenetree. She's got that deadpan thing down.

I will also say Mem, because of her thread about the hot rock massage guy, which was one of the funniest ever, along with the thread started by the guy who put his carpet in the street and was outraged when an old lady ran over it, and the thread about when straw's car got stolen.

But Mem, how can you say you don't like pop music????

breal, I like blues, classic rock, Irish music, and I love classical. That pop stuff just doesn't appeal to me. It's not quite as bad as hot rocks though - that was awful - I felt very ....violated!

Sheryl has some bluesy, classic rock-y songs. Sometimes I suspect that Mick Jagger is her illegitimate father. Check out "Favorite Mistake" & "If It Makes You Happy." Both are on the greatest hits album.

Sheryl Crow has some great music and seems to be a decent person as well. The greatest hits album is well worth a listen.

Lance Armstrong is an idiot. Some random massage therapist over Sheryl Crow? I certainly hope he wasn't that callous as described above.

(BTW - Greenetree, thanks for that reminder.....)
