Hmmmm... At some point your body's gonna take you down. I know. I'm a true night person. My job allows it (global company, the job's 24/7) and I mostly live the schedule working or not.

But life sometimes gets in the way. Most family, friends and neighbors not (happily) available during a good part of 'my' time.

So what keeps you up?

My 14 month old is a horrible sleeper. He's been sleeping since 10. Usually, as soon as I put my head down to sleep, he wakes up. If I stay up, he'll stay down. He needs his rest.

Magical thinking? But whatever are you going to do when he wakes? I hope you have help. Sleep deprivation is the biggest shock of new parenthood.

I remember when my daughters were newborn. My brains were mush...

Help? Whoa, now that's funny. I have a husband who will be writing two papers and doing lesson plans today and an 18 year old daughter who will be doing god knows what today. I'll probably sleep when the baby takes his first nap.

Sleep deprivation is a huge issue this time around. I don't think I've slept more than 4 hours a day more than three times in the last 14 months. I'm pretty used to it know.

What keeps me up? That is the subject of another thread entirely.

Let's just say I am a night owl who can't sleep.

I know someone else who tends to be awake at all hours of the night. Not sure if she'll post here though.
