I adopted a hound mix little girl last week and was curious who adopted her litter-mates. If anyone knows and they could PL me I'd love for my little girl (Chase) to have a playdate with her siblings. Is this a queer request?

Wouldn't it be great if, independently, the owners of a littermate had named him "Sanborn"?

Hi Alg,

Claudia adopted her mom. She's still trying to figure out a name.

When do you want to introduce her to Jack?

Cheers

Awwww. I want one! What kind of dog is she?

Have you ever noticed how kids, puppies and kittens are all adorable? No matter how funny-looking they grow up to be. They seem to outgrow their cuteness when they outgrow their mischevious behavior. I guess it's a defense mechanism: you can't kill something that bad who is that cute.

I'm so curious about what she'll look like grown-up. I have to go see Claudia and see this mother-dog!

Greene - the JAC says "hound mix" - I am not certain what type of hound ... fox hound? coon hound? She is so damn cute I can't stand it!

Alg - Chase's mom is a chihuaha shibu inu mix, and they think the dad's a beagle. Chase looks nothing like her mom:

Click on the link and scroll down slowly (the pictures need a few seconds to populate). Right in the beginning there is a picture of a bunch of empty cages and below that a whole bunch of doggies start coming up. Scroll down until the end of these pictures, not all the way to the end of the page and there on the right (last picture in the saved series) is her mom, she's wearing a bandana:

Chase is there as well.

Mem -- maybe that's not her mom? There were a few litters brought up from Ga. We'll have to get the two together and see if they act like mother/daughter.

Alg,
Claudia unloaded the dogs from Georgia and guarantees that is her mom. Either way - she's a cutie! I can't wait to meet her.

Hi Alg:

Congratulations on the great puppy. I adopted the mom who is a very funny looking dog with an unbelievable personality. Yes Chase is definetly her puppy but I can tell you that she either enjoyed a little tet-a-tet with a very big mix of a mutt or she had more than one partner in succession which can easily happen when there are alot of strays around. Not one of her puppies looked like her and except for two none of them looked alike. Normally dogs will not show any emotional connection if they meet their offspring after almost a month after weaning but we can try and see. "Jesse" as we have named her now is an incredibly good natured, very smart (housebroken in a day and a half), very lively but pays attention kind of dog. She immediately managed to fit into a household with two kids, two other dogs, a cat and a fish. Why did I adopt a third dog you ask. I tell you I unloaded her and fell in love while carrying her into the shelter. I did leave her overnight to see if somebody would adopt her but alas she was still there on Saturday afternoon. Nobody had filled out a preadoption form for her and she was so sad and scared so I took her home (for the night was the plan). Well she never had to go back to the shelter because she managed to charm us all (people and animals in my home). Just let me know when and I come by with her.

bajou is right. doggies don't emotionally recognize their own family. my dog didn't give a hoot about seeing his mother and father OR sister who is the mother to his new mate, his niece. i keep telling him that she is his niece and what he desires is called incest but she's a little hottie and he just doesn't care about the familial ties.

on the flip side of the incest thing (for dogs), it's strange that my new pup's grandmother on her father's side is my dog's mother. it's confusing.
