Well I've been told I'm a 'nobody,' guess I am because I don't appear in the 'who's on line' list. The funny think about the list is I leave my computer on most of the time. And a lot of that time it's left on the MOL messae boards... Dave did you also change the size of the box we type our messages in? It seems much bigger. | ||

I just saw you there Aunt. So exactly how do you figure out if someone is online? I never really "log on" although I do plug my username and password into searches rather frequently which seems to have the same effect. Does that mean that once I've done that on a given day, I will be marked as online as long as my computer remains connected to the internet? I noticed the same thing about the "box" | ||

If I remember correctly, only the larger text box was my idea, I'm still waiting for the ignore link next to each persons user name, allowing you to basically remove that users posts to every thread when you view said thread, if you don't check it (or remove the block), then you see their posts, check it, and they are gone, poof.... | ||

Well, it certainly wouldn't be you cheesy. I'm not really looking to block anyone, but this option would certainly be used by others, and then maybe I won't have to constantly skim through the posts of one person attacking another, block the offending user, and then you won't have to read what they say, so you won't have to complain about them, and then I won't have to read posts of another user complainingg about other users as much.  | ||

It seems to use the username, not the fullname. Last night I noticed that Just The Aunt was listed as Auntof13. Since mine are both the same, I'm not totally sure on this, but I think that the username is the one you sign on with and the fullname is the one that can be changed | ||

Guests also include those registered folks who have not yet "signed in". When I first got on a little while ago, I checked it before doing anything else and it simply showed a count of guests. After I had done a "messages since last check" search, my username was in the list. Big Brother (and everyone else) is watching  I also finally clicked on the "learn more" link and found that it had the answer to my earlier question as well as some of the others that are popping up here. | ||

O.K. So let me see if I understand this. I just looked and it seems like there are something like 300 people on-line now. 270 with no name, and the rest are all registered--yet nothing is happening. So, is this showing me EVERYONE who's even just checked-in--even just for a minute--in the last 15 minutes, but all of those people are not necessarily on-line right now? | ||

Correct. I could narrow the minute range to one minute, but it looks like the guests number doesn't change too radically over short periods of time, so it doesn't seem necessary at this time. Also keep the 300 reading in the last 15 minutes aren't necessarily the 300 people reading at 3:00pm today. | ||
