Hi. I'm new to town and am wondering if anyone knows of a stay-at-home dad's group in the area. Nothing against mom's groups, but I was in a dad-centric group in my old town, and it was terrific. If there is one here, I'd love to hear about it. If not, I wonder if any other dads would be interested in forming one.

Pop Culture is the local dads group that meets once a months at Parkwood Diner. It's a great group and John Havens is the coordinator. You can do a search on MOL to find more info.

If anyone can find me a wealthy single woman who wants to have a SAHD as a partner, let me know. I do diapers, wipe snotty noses, and make a mean cheesecake.

Lee, TS won't let me be a SAHD no matter how much I beg and plead. I'm so envious.

If you had the day I had yesterday... you wouldn't be so envious of us SAHM's. There are definitely days that I miss being able to just dump it all and head to the office to deal with adults only. Unfortunately, I run my business out of my home so I have the joy of dealing with cranky clients, a whiny little girl and an infant. I guess the grass is always greener - if you asked my husband what I did all day long he would probably say shopping and watching Oprah.

I've got to hand it to SAHD's they have to have the toughest job.

I've been a stay at home dad for the last 11 years & nine months, and I still don't quite get how my mother was able to do it the way she did, or perhaps I was just oblivious to how she felt or dealt having to put up with me, and then there is my 3 older sisters.
I've never been a member of a SAHD/M's group, though I have to think that if I had the opportunity when Monster Daughter was a wee one it would have been a positive thang, but I never found it difficult to meet other parents and set up play dates while living in NYC or when we moved to NJ.
Now if there is a SAHD club that meets without the kids, I would have definitely jumped on that band wagon, oh wait maybe I did, without the SAHD part added to it.

Mind you, Pop Culture is for all fathers, not just stay at home dads.
