Just saw a mention of this store on another thread. Went in the other day to buy a gift and was pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality of the selection of great stuff they have. Hadn't been in in quite a while. Last time I was there, they had a much smaller selection, although the quality was--and continues to be--really great. I was going a little bananas in the store, and came "this close" to buying MYSELF the most precious set of fairy wings (cuz I'm pretty sure the boys won't wear them)! How lucky we are to have TWO great toys stores within walking distance here in town! I'll definately be going in again, sooner rather than later this time! (And before anybody jumps to any conclusions, I am in NO WAY affiliated with the store!) |

It is a great store & I've found that the wonderful owners (whom I do know!) make excellent suggestions when I am having a hard time deciding. Meandtheboys: I hear you on the fairy wings! ;-) |

SoOrLady, What are you talking about? You're too young to have a grandson. |

I love the store as well. The couple of times I have been in there, with nothing but the idea that I wanted to get some gifts, I walked out with the perfect games for each child. I also love that I can walk there and back, so I can use the excuse of exercise as a reason to browse. Or shop. |

I also love that store - everytime I need to buy gifts for kids, I always go there and find great stuff. I'm a big fan of constructive toys that require no batteries and are very simple, natural, hand made, and somehow a bit old-fashioned. That store has a big variety of that. I can't wait to have kids so I can go to Wooden You Know all the time! |

It's a great place. Matt is so helpful. I love being able to go in and simply say something like I need a good present for a 6 year old for about $20 and he spend several minutes with me explaining all the options he has. |

I agree with all the previous posts, serveral times over! Matt is always full of wonderful suggestions, and he totally respects your budget too -- I can go in and tell him I'm looking for a gift for $15, and there is no eyeball rolling or sighing or anything to make you feel like a cheapskate (a big fear of mine, obviously). Plus, free giftwrapping! Some great gifts I've bought there recently, all under $20 (some a lot less): magic set make-your-own kaleidescope kit kid-sized gardening tools and tote set of stamps & stamping pads an erector set of some sort (real metal, not plastic) wooden drum & maraca (sp?) dan zanes cd (my fave!) beautiful alphabet wall cards (this one was a bit pricier, maybe $28?)

Well Matt is a nice guy and all that, but I know for a fact that he does not like Broccolli. How nice can he be knowing that? Later, George |

And I bet in his spare time he tortures kittens! (Kidding, kidding, kidding. I agree he's a really nice guy, always very helpful, and doesn't mind cleaning up after my kids!) |
