I was under the impression that Maplewood water was not fluoridated, but my neighbor who's lived here for 30+ years just told me it is and that it's the water in South Orange that's not. Anybody know? Guess I should call the water company. I've been giving my kids vitamins with fluoride and don't want to overdo it. Thanks for any info!

Maplewood water is not fluoridated? Is that what you are saying, Joy?

I'm pretty sure it's not fluoridated. My kids have never had any cavities though, and they sure as heck aren't the best tooth brushers, so I'm perfectly happy we do not have fluoride in our water.

According to my daughter's dentist - Dr. Fried - the water is not flouridated.

Not.

My kids got prescription vitamins with flouride from our pediatrician.

Ditto on the vitamins. Kid takes them with flouride because Mwood water doesn't have it.

Thanks everyone. I called the water company and indeed Maplewood water is not fluoridated so I will continue to give the vitamins with fluoride and get the yearly fluoride treatments the dentist gives. Despite this, my elder son already has had four cavities...sigh.
