If you double click on the image it expands to fill your whole screen. Great for watching it with kids. |

I love bird-cams. Where are these birds? I don't see any mention of where on the homepage. Great one for Peregrine falcons in Harrisburg(?) PA: http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/falcon/ Click on live video (there's also sound, which is very cool once the babies have hatched and the parents are busy going back and forth for feedings). I think there are a total of 4 different camera angles. |

I am addicted to watching. I check in about twice a day. As of this morning Mother Eagle was still sitting on the egg (at least I assume its the female). Hubby was not there, maybe out catching breakfast. |

I haven't been able to get video the last few days. I guess the site is too busy. |

I just tried and got nothing too. Seems as if there's a chance the nest won't be successful this year, so I was thinking maybe they shut it down? |

Nevermind. Just tried again and there she is. Perhaps they have lots of "traffic" and are having problems with the server (or whatever the correct computer lingo is)! |

No it was "I only have two daddies!" I stand corrected. Silly me, in this day and age to just assume the child had a mommy and a daddy. From now on it's "parents!" That should cover all the bases! |

So sad. The eggs weren't fertile. Right now on the cam all you can see is the empty nest with a single feather. Background on the Hornby Island Bald Eagle nest: This nest is located on Hornby Island in the Gulf Islands area of British Columbia. This pair has been nesting in this nest for about 19 years -- usually producing 2 young per year. |

Uh, it just got even sadder! I returned back to the site and there's an apparently confused eagle sitting in the empty (eggless, anyway) nest. |

Last night I tuned in and the nest was empty....no eagles, chick or egg. Then 1 eagle returned, looked around and sat down. She (again I assume its the female) started pecking at some twigs. How long will she stay before she realizes that there is no egg or if there is an egg that it will not hatch? What happened to the egg? Very sad. |

Update: According to the web site, the eagles have left the empty nest. They said this pair has been together 20 years and they are now both too old to produce chicks. There is a new nest web cam that will be activated later today that I think has 2 eaglets. |
