Only because of the internet did I discover a gem of a business...right here in our own backyard! I needed a simple rubber stamp. I have spoken to office supply stores, gift shops, stationery stores. Everyone sends it out, charges a fortune and takes 2-3 weeks. I needed an elaborate line of text on a simple rubber stamp to make 400 gift tags for a project I am working on. I also needed the stamp ASAP. One Google search later I discovered "Acme Rubber Stamp Works" on Burnett Avenue (two doors off of Springfield Avenue.) In less than 24 hours they produced two stamps for me, charged me next to nothing and then sold me some neato ink pads as well! I highly reccommend this business...it is so very retro. I think all my children's party invitations and thank-you notes will be written on homemade notecards from here on out. They can make a stamp out of any text or line drawing. Way cool. |

Cool! Do they do custom only or do they have pre-made stuff ready to sell too? |

They are not set up like the rubber stamp dept. at Michael's. I don't know if they have anything pre-made....other than "PAID" or "RECEIVED". The shop is little more than a counter with an ancient rubber stamp-making machine behind it! They could fabricate anything you design though. |

I discovered them fairly recently, too. Same experience - quick turnaround. And I LOVE the retro feel of the place - the high tin ceiling and the whole setup reminds me of some of the old stores in the town I grew up in in the 1950's. |

If .eps is a file extension name you will be SOL. I don't think they even have a push-button telephone in the place! Take in a B/W print of the image and they work from that. |
