prnewswire "The new Nike+ Air Zoom Moire is the first footwear designed to talk to iPod. Nike plans to make many of its leading footwear styles Nike+ ready, connecting millions of consumers to the Nike+iPod experience. With the Nike+ footwear connected to iPod nano through the Nike+iPod Sport Kit, information on time, distance, calories burned and pace is stored on iPod and displayed on the screen; real-time audible feedback also is provided through headphones. The kit includes an in-shoe sensor and a receiver that attaches to iPod. A new Nike Sport Music section on the iTunes(R) Music Store and a new nikeplus.com personal service site help maximize the Nike+iPod experience." http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/ don't know why you have to use a Nano though, oh yeah, to drive up more sales of the Nano of course. |

was just joking with my wife that the new Nike apparel line will have shorts for women that will sync with an iPod to play a message when they are ovulating, and in the mens shorts to let them know when there balls are at the right temperature so they know whether their load will arrive alive and healthy. iPod: It is now your optimal time for procreation, please fornicate now, pleas fornicate now.... |

Well the only reason I can think of is that people who are exercising will already bring their ipod along. If the ipod can act like a pedometer (and other features) then it prevents people from having to bring (or remember to bring) the other hardware. It's just like why does your cellphone need to have music player or camera in it. Well because it saves you from having to carry around 3 pieces of hardware. One can do it all. |

Now, if I can just send my sneakers and iPod out for a nice healthy run and get the benefits of that without actually going myself... well, then I'll be first in line to buy the gear. I've got nothing against exercise, it's just that I could also spend that time eating GIANT bowls of ice cream. |

I'd prefer that they come up with an iPod that can just directly suck the fat out of my arse, not to mention that awful giggly part of my upper arms....do you think that will be next? I don't have an iPod yet, but maybe I'll hold out for that one. |
