but hate just about everything in the stores right now?

You must go here: www.1154lill.com

You can choose from dozens and fabrics and styles and design your own bag! They even do a diaper bag. And the prices are equivilent--or better--than what you might pay for a designer bag!

I searched high and low in the stores for something I liked, that could be multiseasonal, and was big enough (but not too big) to carry my stuff. Everything I saw was so ugly. Most was 80's-style metallic leather that looked like someone attacked it with a Bedazzler. Yuck.

This is my "design:"

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, they do home parties! You know, like Tupperware and Partylite, etc. Maybe when my addition is done (sometime next year!) I'll have one and invite all my virtual friends!

Agreed. I was going to comment on your good taste in your renovation blog since I also really liked the tiles too - but thought it was easier to say agreed (even though I just said more).

Handbag?!

Is this the handbag, Miss Prism? Examine it carefully before you speak. The happiness of more than one life depends on your answer.

Great bag! I would love to do something like that - because I am right there with you with the styles in the store - YUCK!!!! Count me in when you do the party. Is that red pocket made of suede?

BTW, what's the ballpark price for making a bag like that?

Yes, Deidra, the pocket is faux suede, as are the straps. Even better the interior of the bag is this fantastic pale green "Spearmint Sateen" and the interior zipper pockets, which are inside the bag, are "Wild Poppy Sateen" which is a deep raspberry-ish red!

I'll put you on my "party list," but again, it won't be until early next year. So if you want a bag now, order on-line!

I'll P/L you with cost info, but you can go to the website and get the prices there. FWIW, this bag was way more than you might pay in Target, but way less than you might pay for an equivalent Kate Spade. Plus, it is basically a "one-of-a-kind."

Yeah, ess, they have really great stuff. Can't wait to go back for more!

Also, for those of you who might not feel up to designing your own, they have several different pre-made designs in each style bag.
