So I make a left off Valley on to Baker heading in to town around 5:00 this evening. After I pass the entrance to the CC pool, and as I'm approaching the bridge, I see something laying off to the side, near the parked cars, in the opposite lane. At first I think it's a sliver of a tire, but it's more gray than black. As I pass I notice it's white on the other side. A quick double take and a re-check in my side mirror confirms it's a dead fish. And a rather large one at that. Could have been 18 inches. Could have been 2 feet! Bizarre. |

This, I think, is a red herring. |

Monster, I had a feeling you were going to pick up on that even as I was writing it! I don't know, for a quirky kind of guy, you are sometimes way too predictable! |

S.L.K., I am so not up on my varieties of fish. All I know is it was too small to be a tuna and too big to be a goldfish. Could have been anything. |

the poor guy obviously was feeling like a fish out of water...might not have been a crappie, other than the sort of day it was having. If it was a salmon, the spawning season in the stream cutting through Memorial Park must be brutal or maybe its a walking catfish (although it wasnt walking any longer, perhaps making it a croaker or a killifish).

That's if you are able to jump...I am surprised our fish don't have two heads and to tails. |
