Today I found wads of hundred dollar bills in my pocket, again. Of course, I figured out another way to get rid of all "that extra cash". This time, I sat in my office and made little paper airplanes, and then shot them all around my office, all day long. My co workers love me! I kept a few wads to toss in the Garden State Parking Lot tolls on my way home just to show my appreciation of that lovely route. Any other good ideas about what to do with "that extra cash"? |

I converted my tax return to $10 bills & ran it thru the shredder. I'm trying it as compost in my veggie garden. The squash seem to love it, but the tomatos aren't as responsive. Maybe I should have used $20s? |

I grind my hundreds in the food processor then simmer in a sauce pan with a 2% salicylic acid simple-syrup until it hints at a boil. I let cool then dab on blemishes to even out my complexion. For a summer treat: Add a few coursely ground fifties to the above recipe and apply to freshly shaven legs to minimize red bumps. |

I use my Benjamins as wicks in the Tiki Torches. Also, sometimes instead of mint I use mulled twentys in my Mojitos, also known as Motwentos. |

Why do you think they call it "filthy luchre"? I use it as kitty litter,of course. I've found fifties are the most absorbent, while twenties have a deodorizing effect. You know....the smell of money |

Crisp, new bills, preferably 50s, are ideal for stuffing in wet shoes after a rainy day. They absorb both the odor and the moisture while helping to maintain the shape of the shoe. When the shoes are dry, the entire wad of bills can be used to patch up those annoying holes in my basement wall. When the wads dry, I simply paint over them. Talk about making your money work for you!! |

Justmelaura, I was wondering how your tiki bar could raise funds. Motwentos would be perfect. Sh*t, I'd be good for about a hundred dollars worth of Motwentos, maybe more. J.B. I just like saying, "Motwentos." |

Too bad I gave up cigars. Fifties were perfect to light dem babies up and reminisce about fighting in the mountains with Fidel and Ernesto...those were the days. Now those bills are just piling up in the corner... |

Las - I think that they were going to use the fifties instead of topsoil to fix the lawn after the tank fiasco. It's not legal to fill a tank with sand anymore, remember? |

Sheesh, it must be extra cash season. I cleaned out my sock drawer last night and the whole bottom was loaded with wads of 20s, 50s and 100s. I threw some of it out the window (I am SO good at that!), then I took the rest and glued the little bills into big streamers and made a flag to hang outside my front door. I think the wind blew it away because it was gone this morning - oh well - I can always make another one, plenty more where that came from! |

Notehead and I are redoing our basement. We thought it would be very cost efficient to use $100s instead of plaster on the walls. What do you think?

I also found a stack of twenties this morning in my sock drawer! I traded it for a grande latte at Starbucks. I figure, they could use it more than me. |

Pippi, You might want to save those bills for wallpaper over the plaster. That's what we did for our recent kitchen renovation. We get so many more visitors than we used to! This causes some wear and tear on the wallpaper, so we've had to re-paper quite a bit when pieces go missing. |

Las, Greenie's right, we couldn't fill it with sand but when they took the tank out we just dumped $10,000 george washingtons into the ground. They're really good for drainage, which we need with this clay soil! |

Guys - you have to try this! You know all those really old, soft bills you find jammed in boxes and stacked in dusty bundles in your attics and cellars? They're usually ones, fives or even tens? You can use them as toilet paper! I made a nice "paper" mache box out of those pesky hundreds I have lying around, and I place it next to the toilet with a nice stack of soft bills in it - it's wonderful. Now I know my money is worth sh*t! But, do you think it's too Martha Stewartish"? |

As long as you aren't folding it into little origami swans to sit on the back of the tank, no. It's not too Martha-ish. |

You actually wipe with the bills? I generally shred them up into a slaw and eat one cup with each meal for roughage. I got the recipe from Martha (we roomed together at a long-term spa not too long ago); she never said anything about using bills to wipe... |

Las - ! Please don't EAT money - you don't know where it's been my friend! All those grubby little hands passing it around before it ends up piled in your closets, cupboards, drawers and attics. Also, use ONLY the soft bills to wipe. Newer bills have those sharp edges and corners that can cause paper cuts. |

mjh, I like the wallpaper idea! Try using a nice matte varnish over it so your visitors can't peel and pry. My new roof is made out of short stacks of 100s, compressed and coated with a burnt umber tinged weatherproof shellac to give it that spanish tile look. I'm not sure I'm happy with the way it looks on a colonial, so I'll probably have it torn down and use coins instead. |

I saw a lawn being laid with sod, and I thought, wouldn't money be more cost effective and require less maintenance? But still green. Talk about keeping up with the Joneses. Or the Benjamins. J.B. |

I'm wrapping my potted plants with a collage of variegated green bills, in the hope it will encourage them to grow and not die like every other year's hopeful purchases. But if that doesn't work, I'll just make origami flowers and leaves of some of the new bills, which have lovely color variations - the peachy tones should peek out nicely from the greens. |

I usually like to use the sharper ones (those nice 50s are excellent), roll them up, and smoke 'em. Perfect for a summer night! I use the 20s to start up the grill. The fire starts so much easier and it keeps up so strongly when I keep feeding it with more bills. It really makes the food quite crispy! |
