Monster Wife left my soap in the PA restroom last night on her way home from the city. My last sliver of soap disintegrated in the shower this morning, I need my soap!! So, if anyone in NYC today happens to be walking by an Amish Market grocery store, can you please stop in and buy me a few bars of Olive Soap, the big green bars, oh yeah baby that's right, I need the Olive Soap! It's the only soap I will use, and I'm going to start getting Monster Dirty without it, so please-please-please, it's only a dollar, maybe a few cents more, and I will give you the money back of course. Please someone, get me my Olive Soap, the big green bars. Gotta' go out for a bit so I won't be able to check the thread, but if you buy it Monster will be so happy! Thank You, Monster |

no no no, this is handmade soap, as far as I know the only place to get this particular soap is at The Amish Market in NYC, although I could be wrong. What the heck is L'Occitane, one of those girly stores?

I bet the Amish are just buying it at GNC and putting their own wrapper on it. They're pretty crafty. Yes, L'Occitane is definitely a girly store (and I'm sure their soap would be more than a dollar or two...) |

no no no, this is much much better then Kiss My Face, we're talking about wholesome handmade soap here, complete with crushed up bits of pits that can really scratch the heck out of sometimes, leaves no soapy residue, and most importantly, it doesn't make Monster itch. I can feel it's caress now, aaahhhhhh....... not to mention that these are honkin' big bars of soap, they have other kinds of soap too, but the big green Olive Soap bars are the ones that Monster likes. this would be the Amish Market I am referring too, http://tinyurl.com/rtrsz |

a. L'Occitane has a men's department as well as an extensive line of olive products. My personal fave: lemon verbena. b. Do they have your soap at the Amish Market dowtown (Battery Park?) If so, I'll stop there at 5. |

I'm waiting for our CMS to upload. I got another 45 minutes to go. So I'm going to the Amish Market now to see if I can find it for you 'Ster. I'll be back shortly to let know you how I did. |

OK, this was not an easy project actually. It was fraught with many perils and pitfalls. First off, their non-food section is EXTREMELY small and hidden. The worker was stocking in that section and refused to move his cart. After much looking, I finally asked him if their was any soap other than the DOVE? I explained that I was looking for big Green Olive Soap. He looked at me befuddled and after I repeated it all over again. He finally opened his mouth and told me that he didn't speak english (presumably he meant well since he was chatting with me) and he would get a manager. As he was walking away, I asked if there was soap anywhere else in the store. He stopped and said, "I don't know what you mean by soap. Is this maybe what you are talking about?" and pointed off towards another section of the store. I headed off in that direction and noticed a bin all alone in a corner by a door, near stone and wood cutting boards. The bin was filled with blocks but there was no label on them. They looked like soap bars but I was still unsure because (dum da dummmmmmm...) they weren't really green. I did finally notice a sign hanging nearby that stated that the bars were $1.49 each and they were in fact made from Olive oil. I began really examining the bars in search of "pits" and scratchy bits. But wasn't really sure, with any certainty that these were the actual bars that 'Ster was describing. The color was the thing that confused me the most though. He DISTINCTLY said green, and these didn't strike me as green. But... I'm a little color deficient in (you guessed it in green and red). Maybe it is a tint of green? So I asked the lady worker chatting a few feet from me. I asked her what color the soap was. She also looked befuddled (probably wondering if it was a trick question) and said that it was beige. I asked her if it was beige with a tint of green and told the full story and how my friend usually buys his GREEN soap at the Amish market, and they HAVE TO BE GREEN. Well as luck would have it, this worker was familiar with the soap I was talking about. She explained that it's the EXACT same soap as the green soap, but now it is beige. She said it just changed over recently and the only difference was the color. I asked her if she was sure, because this friend is Uber-particular when it comes to soap. And she swore, and even asked if she wanted me to call the manager out to confirm what she said. I felt like I had drilled her enough. I thanked her and bought 6 bars of Beige Olive Soap. If it's the wrong soap, you are only out $9. But I have a feeling that this is the right stuff. I'm not sure what time I'm going to get home though tonight. I'm probably going out to a later dinner so won't be around 'til a bit later in the evening. If I'm able to meet you tonight maybe I'll walk my dog your way, I'll PM you? How does that work for you? |

All you had to do was make a phone call. You totally missed that part. Again, Alley is a star. And you need to bathe. |

Jeez Louise Monster. You spend so much damned time on the computer, do you really mean to tell me you can't get this soap on-line? Have it sent directly to your house, and keep a good back-stock, so as to avoid any future soap tragedies? |

Well, maybe if I found out where the market gets its soap, if they have a mail order business, or e-commerce presence, then I could back stock it. But it's Monster Wife's job pleasure to get my soap and to keep me clean, after all - she is the one that goes to the city, and she did wed the Monster. No one wants smelly Monster crack near them.... |

I'n just getting ready to take a shower, but no soap yet, aaaahhhhhhhh........... I do have a little bit of Dr. Bronner's Lavender soap left, I guess I can put a little on a washcloth and use that, it's good stuff too. We use the doc's soap for hand soap, that way I don't get Monster dry hands and get that itchy scaly thing going on. |

No, we do not want smelly monster crack... If monster so desires, I do have (boxed, not used!) Yardley of London aloe and cucumber soap, and also a bar of natural oatmeal and almond soap .. if it would make a monster happy (and clean) I would be happy to donate either/or both to the cause. Let me know |

Monster, please spare us the play-by-play in the shower... How about some Comet, Mr Clean, and a loofah sponge? Yes, somewhat on the industrial strength side, but at this point, sounds like you haven't showered in a number of days. You can use a good scrubbing. I can smell the pungent order all across town, man |

I just got back from Monster's abode and I was a bit disappointed to find out it was NOT in fact the right soap. Monster was very gracious about it and didn't grumble one bit. He seemed pleased enough by it to at least give it a try. Let's just hope those Amish know soap quality. The size of the bar was all wrong (these were too small) and it seemed to have less scratchy bits in it. Oh well. I tried. Monster, I forgot to wish you a happy Father's Day Monster. Have a great one. And good luck with the sudsing. I hope you find this soap to be itch-less. |

CFA, the $9 wasn't an issue. I was just saddened that the soap I picked up wasn't THE soap. I feel like the knight who went out on a quest for a shrubbery but only returned with something inferior like a sapling or something. |
