I've noticed a problem with my avatars, that are supposed to be animated, but they aren't in Safari, at least not in version 2.0.3. I upload an animated gif file, and it animates in other browsers but not in Safari, as first brought to my attention by Lazydog awhile back, didn't think much about it until I decided to use a new avatar, which isn't animated in Safari, but should be, the avatar also somehow has it's file type changed to .jpg, from .gif, but is still animated in other browsers, just not this Safari. So my questions here are, Is my avatar showing as an animated image? If it is, which browser are you using, and what operating system? If it isn't, which browser are you using, and what operating system? thank you oh yeah, lets see if it's animated if posted into a thread, it's not in preview mode, now I'll click to Post this Message

Now see, that's just weird, in Safari the avatar isn't, but in Firefox it is. and the one in the post is, in both of them. and the file type for the avatar is changed to .jpg |

Exsanguination. I think that's how it's spelled. Also, epistaxis. Better in print. JJ.B.jjj |

now it's just getting weirder, are you in Panther or Tiger Dave, I think it has something to do with OS 10.4.X but that still doesn't explain the file type change, I'm going to take it off, and put it back on while in Firefox, then check to see if the file type changes. |

didn't work, still the same problem, and still changing the file type to jpg Dave, can you change the file type to gif on the server, just to see if that makes a difference, still doesn't explain the change though. |

Nope, Monst, no animation at all. I am using IE 6.0, and I didn't know there even was an option to turn off animation....and if so, how do I turn it on? Edited to add: I just found the animation check box in Internet options, and I enabled it. Still, no animation. Maybe when I restart? Edited again to add: NOW I see the animation!!! |

I have animation in both IE 6.0 and Mozilla 1.7.12 (the suite, not Firefox). Funny thing is, in Internet Explorer I see nosebleed boy as the avatar as well as in the post. In Mozilla I see nosebleed boy in the post but the avatar is the animated stop sign. EDIT: XP Pro SP2 |

try refreshing the page and nosebleed boy should show up then, if not, deleting your cache should help. |

Interesting. Just switched to IE to see what would happen. Now Nosebleed Boy is in both spots--body of the text and over by your name. Whereas in Firefox, Nosebleed Boy was only in the body of the text, and that jiggly stop sign was by your name. Weird. |

Both are animated. Firefox on WinXP. For those of you who don't see nosebleedboy as the avatar, hold down ctrl and then reload the page, that should clean out the bouncing stop sign in your browser cache. |

Reload or refresh? Tried holding down CTRL and hit refresh and the bouncing stop sign is still there. |
