Some of you asked for photos of how cold it has been here - along the Murray River in Australia. I don't own a camera, so that makes it hard tos end a pic, however the local radio station's website has some pics from a couple of weeks ago when the temperature broke all records for being COLD.

Yeah, I know for you where it snows, this is nothing - we're below the snow line and generally it's frosty but not as cold as this. check out some pretty pics, and some funny ones too: http://www.abc.net.au/goulburnmurray/stories/s1662770.htm

Thanks for posting the winter pics. It's refreshing to look at them on the hot humid days we have been having here in SO/M. I wish we could trade you some of our heat for some of your cool.

So do I!!!! Have just been reading about the rain in Washington DC - how widespread is this band of 'wet'? Hope it doesn't cause too much havoc.

This morning it's around minus 3.8 degrees C - I think that equates to around 20-odd degrees F (but hey I could be way off, maths was never a strong point and I last looked at the conversion charts weeks ago). Have no idea of windchill yet - I just woke up and am still inside (usually I'm driving to work by now but have a lazy day in training so can take it a bit easy). It's about 7.30 am my time and everything is covered in hoar-frost; it looks cold and brittle. Clear blue skies again this morning, but a weak sun without much heat in it so we'll probably go as high as around 13 degrees...

We've only had one or two days of real fog so far - that's more like our usual winter; grey, wet, clinging. Days when you want to be near a comforting and cheery fire with a hot mug of coffee or chocolate. We're not getting enough rain. I'll see if I can find a pic of how low the river is...

I dunno Monster, I kinda likes the frozen underwear!!!

Remind me not to complain about how hot and sticky it gets here. I much prefer that over cold and wet.

Looks like it might be a good time to get "up over "and visit SoMap. Hey , Joanne???
