I started digging up my garden at 3p. Got a whole weekend of gardening in in 5 hours. I moved a bunch of stuff around; I hope it still fills out.

Man, I feel so much more human after being outside for a few hours.

I took the afternoon off today. I'm tired of sweating my you-know-whats off.

Going to the Adirondacks for two glorious weeks. The high temp there is going to match the low temp here (mid 70's).

No TV, radio, cell phones.

(No phone, no pool, no pets. I ain't got no cigarettes. I'm the King of the Road)

I went out to clean out the trunk of the JETS MOBILE(my old GREEN car) and with in 5 minutes I was sweating like hell. I was wearing a bathing suit under a pair of shorts and a basktball jersey.

I like it hot, but not this hot

NJ fan,

Your boyfriend is 6 years old? Perv!!!

Anyhow, it's just a cyber-flirt, so he has nothing to worry about. (If he ever met me he'd realize he has even less to worry about)

Besides, it' sometimes more fun trying to visualize what something/someone looks like than actually seeing it/them.

So if it's OK with you, I will ignore the above post and keep the other post fresh in my mind. (Hmmmm, I guess this makes me a perv.... works for me.)

Here is one to grow on:

Wednesday
Hazy sunshine...hot and humid with highs around 102. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Heat index values up to 115 in the afternoon.

I will keep that little tid bit stored away until Late January, when I can open it up and say....."wow, being cold is not that bad"

Ours was out from about 4PM until...I dunno, we left...when we came back at 8, it was on.

And today I have a 2PM mtg. in the city. Gonna be hot, hot, hot.

Me mind on fire -- Me soul on fire -- Feeling hot hot hot
Party people -- All around me feeling hot hot hot
What to do - On a night like this
Music sweet - I can't resist
We need a party song - A fundamental jam

See people rocking -- Hear people chanting -- Feeling hot hot hot
Keep up this spirit -- Come on let's do it -- Feeling hot hot hot
It's in the air - Celebration time
Music sweet - captivate your mind
We have this party song - This fundamental jam

Feeling hot hot hot -- Feeling hot hot hot - Oh Lord

People in the party - hot hot hot
People in the party - hot hot hot
They come to the party know what they got
They come to the party know what they got
I'm hot -- You're hot -- He's hot -- She's hot
I'm hot -- You're hot -- He's hot -- She's hot
(Real hot) -- (Real hot) -- (Real hot) -- (Real hot)H
a-ha-ha - Oh Lord

How you feeling? (Hot hot hot)
How you feeling? (Hot hot hot)
How you feeling? (Hot hot hot)
How you feeling? (Hot hot hot)

...ellipsis

The Office of Emergency Management offered suggestions for residents to protect themselves from soaring temperatures:

Stay out of the sun whenever possible. When in the sun, wear sunscreen (at least SPF 15) and a hat.

Drink fluids, especially water. Avoid alcohol or caffeine.

Avoid strenuous activity, especially from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the sun's peak hours.

Take cool baths or showers (with a loved one -hubba hubba-).

Never leave children, seniors, or pets in a parked car.

Make a special effort to check on neighbors, especially seniors and those with special needs.

Report open fire hydrants

Be alert for symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Heat exhaustion symptoms include heavy sweating, weakness, headache, weak pulse, dizziness, exhaustion, fainting, nausea or vomiting, and cold, clammy skin. Body temperature will seem normal.

Heat stroke symptoms include flushed, hot, dry skin, weak or rapid pulse, shallow breathing, lack of sweating, throbbing headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, and unconsciousness. Body temperature will be elevated. Victims should get immediate medical attention.

My workplace is over-warm. It's amusing to see how little one can wear and still pass for "business casual".

This weather actually scares me a bit if I dwell on the possibility of there being a lot more of it in our future.

Just got back from Tupper Lake, NY (Adirondacks). It was 38 this morning and 35 yesterday morning. It made for an interesting two nights in a tent with a summer sleeping bag. But I would rather deal with that than the weather you people had here while I was gone.

My fav thing to do when camping is to sleep in (and I mean like getting up at noon) especially when the temps are lower at night. That cool breeze and a warm sack. Hmmmmm! We're camping on Mt Riga in Connecticut in two weeks and the temps are always a good 10 - 20 degrees cooler there than here.
