Does anyone know where the recycling center is in SO? I have a car full of recyclables and ours is closed. Please don't make me bring it all back into my house.....

It is on South Ridgewood on the left hand side heading towards Maplewood just before the park with the tennis courts there is a large green and yellow sign.

No need, Shanabana. Unlike OUR center, where anyone could come, the South Orange one checks to make sure you area a resident. I just called and they told me no. So there you go - you can dump at ours, but we can't return the favor at yours.
Thank god I wash all my cans out.......

don't you have recycleable pickup in Maplewood? By the way we can't go to "yours" either. I didn't even know Maplewood had one.

I had the same problem yesterday. There is a sign that says it's closed Monday and Tuesday and here we are on Friday and it's still closed while they put in a new sidewalk in front of the entrance.

I went to South Orange but it's not as obvious when you drive in where you need to go to drop off so I had to ask someone and of course they wouldn't let me drop my plastic.

It's always something...

Good thing I don't know where you live - otherwise I'd have to report you or make a citizen's arrest. However they probably wouldn't believe me seeing as I'm from Maplewood (and before that Queens - as opposed to Staten Island).

Since I'm from Staten Island, former home of the world's largest landfill, ya think I'd know!
