I've tried Yahoo and Google with no luck (phone number) and the South Orange web site doesn't have a business listing (might want to rethink that) - does anyone know if they're serving food yet? If so, is it any good? TIA.

They are supposed to start serving food sometime this week. I think they will be starting with a limited menu.

I spoke with the Manager of the restaurant last night. They have menus ready and they were pretty close to opening but then lost there head chief. Apparently it was the same that used to run the restaurants at the Meadowlands. I’ve eaten at the Pegasus quite a bit and was hoping for better. Anyway I guess there in the process of hiring a head chief now. So it could be a while.
The place next door Papillion, is shooting for September.

The South Orange Grille is now open with a limited menu. Apparently they are having a Ribbon Cutting Friday with a bunch of the SO elected officials.

I’ll do the same thing here as with the Gaslight Brewery thread. I doubt that Paul is going to make any changes to the Thu.- Sat. money maker nights but I’m sure he can change some of the bartenders attitudes.

The "bartenders" at the SO Grill are freakazoids. Everyone I know has had awful experiences there.

Can you be more specific than "freakazoids".

How about six guys walking in trying to get a drink, and the bartender is so busy talking he ignores him. Needless to say, he ignored them right out of there to Toro Loco for some margaritas.

According to the News Record the ABC guys along with the SOPD busted a bunch of underage drinkers and the bartenders last week. They also closed the place down.

Interestingly they used an under 21 year old deputy to gather evidence. I thought you had to be at least 21 to be a sworn officer.

Deputies don't have to be officers.

Deputy from "depute": to appoint or authorize as an agent. (American Heritage Dictionary).

The menu remains small and a tad pricey. I'll give them another chance in a month or so, if they're still around.

The guy was described as a Deputy Sheriff, which would indicate he was a sworn officer of the law.
