The condition of Maplewood Avenue from Baker to Jefferson has really deteriorated. If you drive from Jefferson into the village, you need to navigate through two dozen holes that cannot be avoided. In the village, the road surface is so bad, that you're able to see the foundation brick. Surely, this project needs serious and immediate attention. This is our "premier" avenue, and one that is clearly a sign of whether maintenance is done or not. |

I was just thinking the same thing this morning as I tried to maneuver my bike around those "two dozen holes." I realize that a lot of the damage is pretty recent, probably a result of the harsh winter. It's likely resurfacing Maplewood Ave. was not on anyone's radar screen when this year's budget was passed. However -- I hope this gets a higher priorty because as us2 says, this is a very high profile street. |
