I have to disagree with # 3.1 - inner light.
Good Tune.
But I am a Harrison fan.

I have always hated ringo song on abbey road. I refuse to even write the name.

I've seen a lot of votes for Mr. Moonlight. The Beatles themselves apparently thought the lyrics a bit dumb, as the Hamburg Star Club recording shows. And John told an interviewer that he had "always hated" Run for Your Life even though he wrote it. It's about the only Beatles song I skip over. If You've Got Trouble shouldn't really be on the list since it was never released except for the Anthology, which contains a few such songs that were tried out and subsequently rejected. Another is Leave My Kitten Alone, which had enjoyed some bootleg airplay in the 80s.

As for Dig It, listen to the complete song, not just the excerpt that made it to the Let it Be album. It's a spontaneous jam, and showcases John's quickness with words.

I'll respectfully disagree on the rest, but will point out that the Beatles did not write #s 1, 9 or 10.

I must partially disagree.

1. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
2. Born to Run - Springsteen
3. Freebird (once is too much, a thousand times is an 8th Amendment violation) - Lynyrd Skynyrd
4. Heart of Gold - Neil Young
5. Purple Haze - Hendrix
6. Every Breath You Take - Police
7. Pinball Wizard - The Who
8. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
9. American Pie - Don McLean
10. Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison

Of course the irony is that they're all good songs (OK, except Freebird), just played to death.

How about--
My Girl
Respect
In the Mood
I will survive-

The list goes on and on....

Hey Musicme, according Fred Wesley, James didn't compose so much as grunt a few ideas to Fred (or Pee-wee, when he was band leader)and Fred would structure the bass line, chords, etc, JB would then take a phrase(ie Sex Machine, I'm Black and I'm proud) and riff on that for the recording

Of course, it sure works for me!!
