I am new in town and I have been seeing posters around town for the Battle of the Bands later this month? Anybody have any information on this? |

This is a wondeful event for a great cause... Habitat for Humanity. I have been to every one since it started three years ago, and have had great fun each time. This year, I believe it's five local bands. Big Train is my favorite. Great dance music. Food and beer are supplied with the price of admission. Go and have fun! |

Ironman, Tickets for this event are available at the Concierge Desk at the Maplewood Train Station, from Habitat for Humanity Newark (973-624-3330), or from members of the participating bands. All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity Newark. You must purchase and pick up tickets before the event on January 20th, NO tickets will be held at the door. Buy early, it's been sold out each year! Have fun, dress casually, and be ready to dance! |

No, not really. My sense of it is that it is just a real nice neighbors and friends kind of thing ... It is a real good night and I think you will have a good time. If you need tickets, let me know. soul29@home.com |

The Logistical Nightmares will be playing at 7:30 sharp. Set list to contain music from Springsteen, WAR and Sly and the Family Stone. If this is your idea of good dancing music, get there early to insure a front row position. Last year, some of you might remember The Steamers, also the first rock 'n roll band. Members of the Steamers have joined forces with The Nightmares to form the uber-group. Also joining will be Lenny Piero and Sal Fischer - both of South Orange. What a fest it will be! Don't forget to vote for your favorite band. Vote early and often. Additional ballots will be available for purchase. May the most influential band win. Hangin' chads indeed! |
