I'm impressed, Sbenois. You revealed a sensitive inner person I never knew existed.

I've been really bothered by the fact that Saddam Hussein (and bin Laden and al-Zawahiri, etc) is still out there. I'm relieved at the news that two of his obvious heirs are no longer. Too bad they couldn't have been taken alive but I'm sure they themselves made sure that didn't happen.

Hopefully this will make the attacks on the troops ease up.

Tom,
I'm not at all sorry to see these two bastards go, but it's more likely that this will cause an escalation in attacks not decrease it. You see; the loyalists that have been taking pot shots at our troops are always looking for an excuse to go after forces opposed to the previous regime.

I guess my issue is really that it now seems to be OK to go after the children of Heads-of-state. That's a pretty bad precedent... I wonder what hole the Bush girls are hiding in today?

oh, I see. The Hussein boys and the Bush girls, one in the same. How foolish, how very very foolish.

Maybe there may be in-fighting to fill the departed sons' power vacuum. Maybe it will distract from the attacks?

(Insite, I don't think Java was arguing for their moral equivalence, but you probably knew that)

So Insite...

You don't think that this action could validate (in some sicko extremist’s mind) an attack of the pride and joy of the Bush clan?

I think the foolish ones here are those who doubt the resolve of terrorists around the world. These people will use any excuse to attack us. Just as the Palestinians have used any excuse to blow up a bus, just as the Koreans were looking for any excuse against Japan and just as the Croats have been using any excuse to murder in Russia.

All I’m saying is that we (as the most powerful nation on the planet) need to better understand the ramifications of our actions.

If the Bush girls headed up a dreaded and murderous secret service, organized the resistance to US troops, were the obvious heir(esses) apparent to a thuggish father, and had reputations as sadistic murderers and rapists, then maybe there would be some sense in Java's remarks. They aren't, and there isn't.

What surprised me was the fact that they were together. You'd think they'd have split up in order to increase the chances that one of them might slip away.

I agree that it would have been better if they'd been captured alive, so the Iraqis could see them in shackles, but I'll take this.

les, insite, you're so correct. There is absolutely no justification for foreign terrorists to attack the Bush girls.

For that matter, there is no justification for them to attack any of us.

But they did. So who cares if you think it's foolish or senseless?
