Let the rest of the Iraqi citizens actually see that the old regime is dead, so that they will come forward with more information without fear of suffering the conseqeunces of doing just that. It will also sway any additional threats to peace in Iraq see what may happen to them. Through force comes peace ... |

I think we had one of the captured, high ranking officials identify the bodies, so at minimum he should be put on the air in Iraq to confirm that they're dead. If we can get some DNA confirmation, we should get that out there, also. If seeing dead bodies on TV would convince Iraqis, I guess it should be done. This is a big "if", since, according to the the Defense Department, there's a good chance these guys may not be, um, "easily recognizable" at this point: quote:Officials studied x-rays that showed old wounds on one of the bodies were consistent with injuries Uday Hussein was known to have suffered in an earlier assassination attempt that left him partially paralyzed. Dental records also provided conclusive evidence of the identities of the two. Sanchez explained that because of damage to the body, dental records provided a 90 percent match for Uday. But dental records showed a 100 percent match for Qusay.
The Defense Department report also indicates that their location was identified with enough time to isolate the neighborhood, before any shooting began. A coupla' live ones on TV would have been better than corpses, but that's all we have now. As long as we can be sure that the guy who identified them, was telling the truth. Oh well, as the saying goes, "Ignorance is Strength". |

We could call it the Usay, Qusay, and Kobe Show. Finally, reality TV at its best. Next week, on Monday Night Football, its the Cowboy's vs. Muslims. |

I was going to type something, with reference to Zoe's allusion to that "Cowboy's vs. Muslims" joke that you've all probably heard. But then, I thought to myself, why bother? 'night. |

Maybe it's time for us to take up a collection to buy Zoe a new joke book. I don't think putting one of the captured officials on TV to declare them dead would convince anyone. The Iraqis might well think he was being forced to say it, just as our captured airmen were forced at gunpoint to denounce the US back in '91. Hopefully the photos will satisfy the doubters and those whose fear will not be abated without proof. |

With our credibility dropping through the floor w/r/t our multi-billion dollar intelligence community flops and/or administration's disinformation campaign for war it's probably important to show everyone the photos. After all, do you know who "verified" the claim? Teriq Aziz and 3 colleagues. |

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought it was against the Geneva Convention (or somesuch) to show the dead bodies of enemy combatants. Weren't we up in arms about the Iraqi's showing pictures of dead American soldiers ? Why not impale their heads on posts on the gates to town while we are about it ? |

Probably also against the Geneva Convention to go to war without being attacked first. |

Well, the pictures are "up". The boys don't look so good (and they don't exactly look like themselves, either, IMHO). |

It is their culture to display the dead, not ours. Why can't we show it on their TV and not ours? |

Photos of the brothers are on the Internet. Frankly, if the U.S. Govt. hadn't released them then a lot of opponents of the war would say the Army is lying. |
