And just where did all this funny money come from when towns like Maplewood are strangling under the burden of property taxes? Hmmm. Let's see. I got a $189 property tax rebate last year. Do you think I could send my kid to private school with that? (What school did Christie's kids go to? Not public, that's for sure!) I'm not sure I could even buy Hooked on Phonics for that! What would be a good investment for these amazing property tax rebates?

Maybe Governor Whitman's kids went to the same school as Chelsea Clinton.

They should pay off some debt with that. Currently the state has 15 billion of debt issues.
Christy was shifty when it came to finances.
The latest, this big school bond issue, should come as a voter referendum, not as a sleight of hand that she wants.
It should be voted down. The poorer school districts get more money than we do! After a point, more money does not make any more diffence.

Maybe they did. But I didn't see Clinton promising pie in the sky tax cuts and rebates while diverting funds from the public schools. Or claiming a "farmland" exemption on personal property for cutting down and selling a few trees. She neatly sidestepped her own property taxes, didn't she? Should we cut down half of Maplewood's trees and claim a similar exemption for the west side of town? I'm borrowing from another thread here but you get the point.

Nil, you haven't answered what you think should be done with that surplus.

I think a big party over at Curb's mom's house to celebrate her release from prison. She can cook a lot for a couple of billion dollars.
