I am in the final days before our move to Maplewood and the one area that I know we can't DIY is our kitchen. Yes, I plan to lay my own tile on the floors and counters but our cabinets have seen better days. I hear that you can have old ones refinished for less than half the cost.

Has anyone had this done? Do you have any recommendations of local businesses that do this kind of work? Any ideas would be appreciated (painting won't work since they are laminates and the doors & frames don't match).

Do you want your cabinets refaced? We had our kitchen done in Jan. and used LET'S FACE IT KITCHENS, INC. 1-800-339-8176. We were very pleased with the work and the price was considerably less than a total overhaul. The kitchen looks like new! We got 2 other estimates from the more well known refacers and they were higher $$. They'll provide you with references. Happy searching!
