Ate at Verjus (Springfield and Rutgers) the other night again and was most pleased. Yummy food, wonderful, eclectic and reasonable wine list (and of course the ability to have an expertly made cocktail, so rare around here!) Gracious owners and staff and a lovely room, as well. Try it and post your reviews here! Be well, all. David Buckley PS: No ownership or nepotism involved, simply a pleased customer! |

We love it at Verjus. I like that the tables are spaced far enough apart that you don't hear the conversations as if you were sharing the same table! Food is delicious and the service has been attentive. It's a very tranquil place for a delicious dinner. |

The attention to service is first rate. One of the nice little touches is if you ask for a recommendation on wine, they will offer you a taste before you decide. |

My husband and I recently joined another couple at Verjus. It was a truly memorable evening -- great wine, great food and a very gracious spacious atmosphere. I just passed the restaurant and saw a new sign outside. They're now open for lunch! I can't wait to go. |

I went there for brunch once, and they had the best potatoes i think i've ever had in my life. They're baked, then torn apart, then fried. I still dream about them... |

Must admit a partiality to the desserts from Verjus. Charlie leaves a different one outside my cave after he closes up every Thursday night, all nicely wrapped "to go", along with a little plate of whatever the "amuse bouche" happened to be that night. Love those sauteed olives... --The Oracle of MOL BTW: Charlie attributes much of the inspiration for those outstanding desserts to an awesome online course from the CIA (Celestial Indulgences Academie) that I talked him into last year. He's eternally grateful, of course. What a nice chap. Did I mention the simply wonderful hanger steak he dropped off the other night? What a reduction! |

That Hanger Steak is wonderful. Unusual offering, no? But marvelous! btw, they had a "do" there last week for the Mapleberry library folk paying homage to Rowland Bennett; people who read for a living also know a good saucier-god when they see one. |

Just had lunch at Verjus on Friday (the day after the blackout. We had reservations for Thursday night but I didn't get home til 11:15p) The chicken with tarragon sandwich was delicious. Jason had the burger.Simply said.. Superb!!! We also had brunch on Sunday. Eggs benedict to die for. Jason had the ham and goat cheese omelette. Outstanding!. The omelettes are served with potatoes that are like nothing I have had in other places. (I risked losing a finger when I reached into Jason's plate for a taste of the potatoes). Verjus should have a side dish of just these potatoes. Very highly recommended for dinner, lunch or brunch. And I don't even get a kickback |

J&J - They do have a side dish of just the potatoes. At least during brunch they do. If it's not on the menu, just ask. |
