Does anyone have experience working with Brook's Cabinets, a cabinet manufacturer in Maplewood? Were you happy with the quality and the service?

We used them 6 years ago for new cabinets, countertops w/ installation. The cabinets are fine, typical semi-custom quality. The installers did a good job, BUT I've since gone back for estimates to add to our cabinetry and their prices have SKYROCKETED. About 18 months ago I went to them with a drawing for a kitchen island and the owner Tony quoted me something like 10 grand. He told me they were stupid when I first bought from them and prices had basically tripled. He also told me about his houses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and more about how well he was doing financially. (I spent about an hour and a half in his office listening to him yammer on and on...AND he didn't call me back for a few weeks!) To compare, I went to Jeager Lumber and got a quote on almost identical semi-custom cabinets using the same specs and it was about 1/3 the price.
(Note, I still haven't done the work...) If you do go to Brook, try to see one of the designers. Paul worked with us originally, don't know if he's still with them, but at least he had some decent ideas (other than how to brag about his fortunes!).
