that hit my car while turning right from Ridgewood onto Jefferson at about 0845 hrs this morning. Common courtesy as well as the law dictates that you should have stopped.

Hopefully the police have already contacted every body shop in the area to alert them if this vehicle shows up. Were you in your car at the time? Everyone OK?

The damage was fairly minor and there were no injuries.

Someone did something like that to me once (in Tennessee). Rearended me and then took off, driving into opposing traffic to try to escape. I went after her, horn a-honkin', and cut her off cop-show style. Luckily there was a police car nearby and they came right over. Turned out her BAC was .14 and she had two small kids in the car. The kids had two different fathers, one of whom sued for custody based on this incident and won.

The "go after them" approach isn't for everyone and it's probably pretty reckless (she could have been armed or crazy or both), but I'm glad I did it.

#9.. She was armed. She was armed with a large speeding mass of metal. I hope you would think better of ever doing it again man. With a BAC of .14 that woman could easily have wrecked and killed both children. Not to mention herself, you, or anyone in her path. For a rearend fenderbender it just isnt worth it.

Absolutely. But as it turned out, she was an alcoholic who did this routinely (went to the mall, left her kids at a mall babysitting service, got tanked, picked them up and drove with them in the car). She could easily have gotten them killed on any number of occasions. I like to think that I stopped that, at least once, by getting her taken off the road. And as I wrote before, she lost one of those kids as a result. This was around 9 years ago and hopefully she's gotten herself sober since then, not just for her sake but for that of the child she still had custody of.
