Anyone wishing to send a donation for Kevin Bianchi's children's college fund should send a check to the fund's administrator: James Donovan P.O. Box 154 Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 Thanks |

I agree with porthole. As someone who graduated with Kevin and knew him - I think #9's post has to be one of the most tasteless posts to date. How would you feel if you had just buried your second son and read a POS post like that? Why don't you (#9) look at yesterday's Star-Ledger and burn the image of Kevin's sons crying into your mind. |

My apologies to all. I was unfamiliar with the story and saw an opportunity for some (ill advised) levity. I meant no disrespect to anyone, least of all the Bianchi family. I just returned from an unveiling (my uncle) and the last thing I thought to do today was poke fun at anyone's grief. |

Should the check be made out to "Kevin Bianchi Children's College Fund"? Making it out to Mr. Donovan would make me uncomfortable--thanks. |

I see, apparently a sincere written apology does not suffice with you. So be it. Nobody can make anyone else forgive them. If I choose to make a contribution I will do so privately, thank you. I don't need or plan to announce it here and I wouldn't expect anyone else to do so either, and I sure hope that forgiveness doesn't come at a price with the other members of this forum. |

For those interested in donating to Kevin Bianchi's children's college fund, here is the information that was on the flier I picked up at the funeral. KEVIN BIANCHI CHILDREN'S COLLEGE FUND: "Commander Kevin Bianchi was a dedicated father, loving husband, devoted son, loyal brother and wonderful friend. Tragically on July 16, 2003, Kevin was killed when his helicopter went down in Sicily. He was and is, one of the finest men we have had the pleasure to know! Kevin leaves behind his wife Barrie and three children: Kevin, Christopher and Julia. We are starting a 529 college fund for Kevin's children and the daughter(Madeline) of his crewman, Lt. Peter Ober, who was lost as well." "100% of the funds will go directly into the children's account. Funds will be split equally among the four children. Please make checks payable to: College Bound Fund Please mail checks to: James Donovan P.O. Box 154 Lyndhhurst, NJ 07071" |

Well, I've sure gotten good at putting my foot in my mouth lately, haven't I. I realized too late that the post by "bak" was not a response to my apology, which makes my subsequent post inappropriate. I've asked Dave to pull it for me as I can no longer do so myself. I think I'll go have a double scotch and watch some TV tonight..... |
