My wife and I are looking for a vacation place about 2-3 hours from MW/SO where we can also take our infant. |

You don't say anything about what you like to do HGB, but I like the Delaware River area. You might check out the offerings at this place just north of the Water Gap http://www.shawneeinn.com/ Or you might look at places south of the Water Gap, as far down as New Hope. http://www.bbonline.com/pa/buckscounty/index.html#top North of the Water Gap is about hiking and antiquing, while south of the water gap is a bit more populated, with museums, historic sites, a bigger variety of evening entertainment etc. and lots of good cycling. People canoe on the river, although I certainly wouldn't recommend it with an infant. However, I do recommend Bushkill Falls, especially on a hot day. http://www.visitbushkillfalls.com/photos.htm All these places have campsites and parks, if that also appeals.

we stayed at the sterling inn: http://www.thesterlinginn.com/ it's maybe 45 minutes from Bushkill Falls. Rates include a very nice breakfast and dinner. I am more of a beach person but have yet to find a hotel at the Jersey Shore which is worth an overnight stay. Pre-kid we stayed many times at The Sandpiper Inn in Spring Lake (no kids allowed). You could also check out the Lambertville/New Hope area -- convenient for stroller walking in town and along the canal. We just returned from RI and had a great time. We stay in Watch Hill at The Inn at Watch Hill (not the Watch Hill Inn -- different place) -- charming little town, beautiful beach. About a 3.5 hour drive. http://visitwatchhill.com/ Never been there, but maybe Cape May? |

Thank you for the responses so far. We are open to do almost anything (beach, mountains, etc). We would prefer a B&B. The problem has been finding a place that allows children. |

http://www.resortsandlodges.com/NO_FILTERS/page-POCONOEN-2.html This is a link to resorts and lodges in PA that indicates whether kids are allowed or not. One place that has always appealed to me is Eagle's Mere in the Endless Mountains, but I've never been. If you are checking out New Hope on the Delaware River, be aware that it's a bustling town on weekends, in case you are looking for a real escape. But I agree it's stroller friendly and there are lovely walks along the river. Here's the same website for the Delaware River area http://www.resortsandlodges.com/NO_FILTERS/page-PHILADEL-1.html I also hear great things about Rhode Island if you feel like driving that far.

that's ironic - I usually seem to have the opposite problem. please post the places that don't allow children, so I can use those for the child-free vacations we sometimes get to take! |

I reallly don't recommend B&B's with kids unless they are specifically set up for families. Most of the other guests won't exactly be thrilled with you. I think Montauk is a great place for a family vacation. There are plenty of kid friendly places to stay and eat. |
