Okay...it's gotten to the point where I need to bite the bullet and shop for new wall-to-wall carpeting. I'd like suggestions for where to buy (please not Home Depot) as well as suggestions for type. Keep in mind there are 2 kids and 2 big dogs, so I need something that will wear well and not show the dirt. Do they make dirt colored carpet...that would be ideal
House is tudor so keep that in mind when suggesting type. Thanks so much.

We have bought wall-to-wall carpet at G. Fried several times (kids' rooms, basement). It's on Rt 22 in Union, on the eastbound side.

TODAY Wednesday August 13--the Carpet Mill on rt 10 (next to the Party store) is having a UP-TO 50% off sale on the whole collection of carpeting they carry. They have a large selection.

I was impressed with the PRE SALE prices and can't wait to see what I save today when I order the carpeting. I had my rooms premeasured and got a PRE SALE quote last Saturday.

The sale is from 3pm to 9pm only--come in with your measurements.

We bought some wall to wall carpeting from Carpet Mill and were terribly unhappy with the customer service and installation. The actual carpet was fine, but they were so terrible to deal with we never went there again. I recommend Einstein Moomjy. A much better experience!

What ever you do, or whomever you go to, DO NOT go to the floor superstore

See the thread "Floor Superstore" stay away, under Archive Through July 1

We went to cove carpet in summit a few years back and were totally satisfied. We did not do a ton of shopping around so I don't know that they are the least expensive, but, as the comments above indicate, you often get what you pay for.

I had carpeting installed on 8/11 by a local company called Carpet for Less located on Springfield Ave. They did my upstairs and the stairs, removed the old padding/carpeting and moved all my heavy furniture. Highly recommend them...wil be using them again for when I need new flooring in my kitchen and foyer (the also do hardwood, tile and linoleum).
