Just saw a small piece on Eyewitness News regarding you-know-what. Mayor DeLuca appeared in addition to a Mr. and Mrs. Lawlor and another woman whose name I did not catch. |

They did a story on the tax situation that just aired a few minutes ago at around 5:30. They interviewed a few people whose taxes are going up about 50%, as well as Vic Deluca. The brief (about 4 minutes) story didn't say much, though. |

They should go to Trenoton to find out why Whitman has not done one thing in 7 years to help with property taxes in towns that do not have a large commercial base. Then they would know why towns like Maplewood struggle and do revals that can change the whole character of a town. |

Has anyone ever gone to Trenton to ask Whitman? Or invited her to Maplewood to discuss it? Or even called, or written to her? How has she been made aware of the situation in Maplewood? |

Jur - the Governess has been to a lot of towns just like Maplewood (heavily residential, lots of concern for education), and is well aware that the platform she ran on and implemented results in less money for education. The question is, how many people who are unhappy with our tax situation happily voted for Whitman? |

Whitman came to S. Orange last spring/summer to announce that S. orange was getting two jitneys and was not a "transit village" whatever that means. She would not take questions and disappeared as quickly as she could due to "a scheduling conflict". Let's hope she never comes back. |

That must have been the same day that Whitman was spotted in Maplewood Village at the Town Book Shop AND the same day that Dubyuh's sister, complete with campaign buttons and entourage, graced the Maplewood Farmer's Market. When one farmer took the republican party to task for its opposition to raising the minimum wage, her condescending response was:"Well, I'm sure you're glad you got THAT off your chest." Let's hope she never comes back, either. |
