Sorry to interrupt the heated tax debates, but...

Our nanny VERY unexpectedly resigned yesterday due to "family issues". We are frantically weighing our options and we need recommendations and contact info for local daycare providers, part-time nannies, full-time nannies, etc. We have a 1yr old son. Thank you to anyone who has some information, leads, etc.

Try the Children's house on Montague - I know a few people who have kids there and are very happy. It's a home based daycare run by a lovely woman named Sandy.

I have an toddler who's been at the YMCA in Maplewood since three months. We have been very happy there, he really enjoys himself. We've had the same teachers the whole time. Go take a tour and talk to some parents or email me at bronjones1@aol.com., I'd be happy to talk to you.

My daughter attends Discovery Childcare Learning Center(they are in both SO and Maplewood and she is extremely happy there. The teachers are loving and warm and she is learning something new every day. They believe in preparing children for the school system so that when they start Kindergarten or first grade, they are writing all of their letters and numbers and have the skills necessary to excel. She attended Kelly's Kids prior to her first birthday for a few months and the place was a nightmare. The director is an inflexible, money-hungry brute and the teachers are awful. From what I understand, one of the nursery caregivers was brought up on charges of abuse and the place was closed down for a while. My daughter constantly came home with painful diaper rashes at the end of her stay and it seemed that no matter how much food or how many bottles I sent, she was always starving.

Now, at the age of 4, she barely notices that I've left when I drop her off and she's always content when we get home. If we have a Monday holiday, she is itching to get back to school because she misses her teacher and her friends. The directors are a husband/wife team and the place has a family atmosphere in general. They are undergoing expansion this month and will add more classrooms. Both the school and the nursery are on Valley Street (the nursery is just past the SO/Maplewood border, near the A&P). 973-763-2319 - Ask for Mr. or Mrs. Barr.

Can anyone tell me the address or telephone number for the Children's House on Montague. I can't find it through the directories. Thank you.

My fulltime Nanny will be available soon since I am going to stop working. Please e-mail me at bms718@msn.com if you think you might be interested in speaking with her. She has been with me for 3 years and has become a part of our family. I'll be happy to answer any questions for you. Good Luck.
