My kitchen sink is clogged. It has a disposal. I tried a plunger, and it didn't help. It's amazingly hard to push the plunger down, which I suppose suggests that this can't be cleared with pressure. Any suggestions? Thanks. Tom Reingold

It's a good sign that the plunger is hard to push. It most likely means that the clog is before the vent connection, which is not usually more than a couple of feet away from the fixture. If that's the case, you might clear it with a plunger. If pressure doesn't do it- try suction. Place the plunger over the drain opening in the collapsed position and forcefully pull upward. Try not to whack yourself in the head with the plunger handle (you'll see what I mean). Repeat as needed. It's probably going to work. Master_Plvmber

Thanks! Oddly, the blockage seems to be coming and going. Maybe it's shifting around in the drain? Tom Reingold
