New to the two towns? Not new, but just want to meet new people? Then the Newcomers club of South Orange and Maplewood is for you! We're a social group that tries to bring people together to do, well, essentially whatever they're interested in. We have playgroups, children's outings, poker nights, a game group, dining events ranging from the casual to formal, and a host of other activities.

We're celebrating our 30th year of bringing people together, and think it will be a fun year. The first meeting is:

Wednesday, September 3rd
7:45 P.M.
Morrow Memorial Methodist Church (Ridgewood Rd.)

If you have any questions, drop me a line at the email below, or give me a call!

-David Wren-Hardin, President

Pity! The parents' orientation for Columbia High School starts at 7:30pm on Sept 3.

Pity, I'm rarely home from work in the city before 9pm--but would still like to learn more about the group.

The general meetings are only part of the club. Especially for first timers, they are a great way to meet the chairs of events and socialize, but aren't necessary for membership. At this first meeting we won't have a speaker, but at most meetings we do. For example, at the October meeting, Dr. Horoschak, superintendent of schools for South Orange and Maplewood, will be speaking to us.

So don't let the meeting time get you down. Drop me a line, and I'll get you a copy of the newsletter and an application form.

And as Phil said in another thread, snacks and babysitting are provided.
