Did anyone by chance video tape Springsteen on Costa's Later Show? I just found out Springsteen was on. Must've been a taped interview. One half 1/15 and the second half 1/16. Anybody?

I missed it too! How could I let something like that happen? Good luck finding a tape.

Do you think there's a Springsteen lyric that applies to this situation? How about for the people who moved to a house up on the hill:

"Now they'd come so far and they'd waited so long
Just to end up caught in a dream where everything goes wrong
Where the dark of night holds back the light of day
And you've gotta stand and fight for the price you pay."

I really get nervous about dragging Bruce into this one, but ...

"There's a place out on the edge of town, sir
Raising above the factories and the fields
Ever since I was a child I can remember
The Mansion on the Hill ... "

No Hero, are you No Hero of, well, No Heroes?

Doubt it. They're really into The Rolling Stones.

Screen door slams
Mary`s dress waves
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays
Roy Orbinson sings for the lonely
Hey that`s me and I want you only
Don`t turn me home again I just can`t face myself alone again
Don`t run back inside darling, you know just what I`m here for............

I`VE COME TO RE-EVALUATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew I shouldn't have gotten Bruce sucked into this swamp in Jersey. Shoot, now I'm doing it. I'm going down, down ... I can't stop.

Actually, the name's from the song Curb mentioned:

Well now I'm no hero
That's understood

Should this kind of goofin' off be going on, when so much serious discussion is taking place around us?

By the way, let's not forget other songwriters. CCR (the band, not the coalition) comes to mind:

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord they don't help themselves
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale

"Fortunate Son"

Chris, good luck with the "Battle of the Bands". Any chance of you playing "Taxman"?

I was eight years old running with a dime in my hand
Into the bus stop to pick up a paper for my old man
I'd sit on his lap in that big old Buick and steer as we drove through town
He'd tousle my hair and say take a good look around this is your hometown

I cannot speak for the other bands, but Big Train is as apolitcal as they come. We did get a little pissy about them putting beer in platic bottles (it ain't natural!), but we got drunk and forgot about it. That being said, we will make no mention of all this darkness on the edge of town. No Hero, remember, you gotta keep your sense of humor. Eyespy, good song selection. I am not worried about Maplewood though. It's a good town, with a lot of great people. This too will pass. If it don't kill you, it makes you stronger.

Williams, we're gonna kick your cucumber eating butt ...

Believe me, I know we have to keep a sense of humor about this.

Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny
But now you're sad your mama's mad
And your papa says he knows that I don't have any money

Okay - we've got plenty of warning now. There's no excuse for missing this one:

Springsteen on HBO on April 7
