1. Metropolitan Plant Center, on Mt. Pleasant Avenue and Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange.

2. Dubrows, on Northfield Avenue in Livingston.

I've been underwhelmed by the prices and service at Dubrow's--as well as the selection on some things I needed.

I like Williams nursery in Westfield.

Parker Nursery on Terrill Rd. in Plainfield. Go west on Route 22, and make the jug handle left turn onto Terrill (by Sears). Go about 5 miles, it's on the left side! It has the largest rose selection in the area, and multiple greenhouses for you to select your plants from. EVERYthing for the gardner is HERE! It's a nice ride out there. Give them a try! I bought a nice deep purple butterfly bush there on my last visit, and some fall grass fertilizer, and got a rose bush free.

I love Metropolitan Plant Center. Although my neighbors told me they found a place in Orange that dwarfs MPC and had tons of stuff. Sorry i can't help with any more specifics - i never got there this summer. Perhaps someone else has more info.

Hi all,
It's called Orange Garden Supply. I'm told this is where all the landscapers get there stuff. It has an amazing selection that surpasses Dubrows and there prices are a bit less. Plus you only pay 3% sales tax. Take Valley street cross over SO ave. Turns into Scotland.. continue straight past the White Castle... cross over 287 when you come down over the hill there is a sign make a right. And when you come home with your shrubs you can stop by and pick up the day laborers that hang out accross the street from the White Castle.

On your recommendation Dano, I drove up there to take a look around. WOW! They've got every sort of bush and tree you can imagine there. It was a muddy hike around the place, sort of brought back memories of RVN. I cant say anyone ran out asking to help me decide which plants to buy, but so what. Its just an awesome place.
