Was listening to a CD of Gustav Holtz's The Planets in honor of all the Mars hoopla, and realized that the "Mars: Bringer of War" piece (written perhaps in the 20s?) is used in X-Men 2, especially the trailers. It was funny hearing those tense, drum-like, plucked violin sections accompanying the action and thinking, hey this is music that is already out there.

Another Holtz gem from this work is "Jupiter: Bringer of Jollity," which is used as the opening theme for WQXR's New York at Six program. Makes you want to bring a boombox along for stargazing.

Either this is a worthwhile rant, or I have just created and killed yet another thread. (Which actually takes more skill than is immediately apparent.)

Clear skies, all!
