Along these lines, Dave, could you create a "Crackpots" section and then incarcerate certain posters there? Hello could be the charter member. It would be entertaining to read, and no one would have to confuse those posts with anything halfway intelligent.

come on guys....crackpot section? It's just free speech. it's not like Hello bought a political TV spot 30 days before an election that criticized some politician. Now THAT would unacceptable. Good thing we passed a law against that.

What's the problem? Do you feel threatened when someone posts a point of view (or a link to one) that disagrees with yours? Either enjoy it or move on. Or both.

Tom,

Maybe you agree with his anti-establishment, anti-Jewish views. I guess, I'm not surprised since you've been a real bore on MOL as well.

Since hello (please say goodbye) arrived, the division lines have grown bolder, and I am still wondering why his anti-jew comments have not caused the same fate that has befallen on straw and others by dictator dave? of course everyone is welcome to their opinions, but when a conservative post is made, the nuts come out of the woodwork to argue it. but when the king peanut (i.e. hello) blasts the right, and i/we object, then it is always the same mantra "freedom of speech, right to their opinion, blah blah blah" being given by rheiny and friends.

the right argument always uses logic and reason. the left argument just blames the right.

Dave suspends people for personal attacks and inappropriate language. I can't think of a single instance where Dave suspended somebody for their ideology or political position.

Now, if I started quoting Mein Kampf, Dave might perhaps suspend me, but nobody has done that.

With regard to Israeli settlers, Hello is arguing that they are treating Palestinians as European Americans treated native Americans. This point of view is not anti-Jewish unless Hello knows it to be wrong but continues to make the claim.

dictator dave.. thats a good one FreeTibet. Tell ya what.. dont like Maplewoodonline then make a freetibetonline or a Imacrankyrightyonline and oversee your own damn board. When you have done that for a while then come back and apologize to Dave who busts his ass to make this an open and reasonably civil place for people to flex sometimes misguided opinions.

Freetibet has been watching too much Fox News, where that stuff passes for intelligent debate.

Oh, give me a break. The thread was going nowhere thanks to the thread-killer twins StrawB and FreeT.

First of all, if the "conservatives" could argue their points more coherently, they would get a more respectful response.

Think Wall Street Journal and The Economist instead of WABC and the New York Post.

tjohn - I don't always agree with you, but THANK YOU for posting a reasonable, intelligent rebuttal (with which I DO agree) to the acerbic, conclusory allegations tossed around so easily and frequently, that hello and his/her posts are an anti-semitic (or anti-semetic).

There were some MOL old-timers who voiced conservative views with competence and respect, but I think they don't post on the Soapbox very often these days because of all the riff-raff.

maybe their "issues" ran away from them?

i mean, it would be sickly to hear republicans talk about "balanced budgets" (their largest deficits in history) or "black helicopters" (their patriot act) or "fighting commuinism" (their "foxnews" is in bed with china's murderous dictators and has endorsed the brutal repression of christians there).

Thank you, Tom.

I tried to be liberal and just go with feelings and cliches, and when things got tough I'd go to personal attacks, but I had to stop. It was just so empty. It was easier, though. Still.....
