I stumbled into the Millburn Mall for the first time, trying to give the merchants there a break (see Vauxhall Bridge thread). Anyway, does anyone know anything about the restaurant named "Mosaica?" It seems like it has a nice menu, though the ambience leaves a bit to be desired. Anyone ever been? |

I work at Mosaica from time to time. It's a French-Mediterranean restaurant that happens to be kosher. The chef used to work at the Savoy restaurant in NYC and the Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. He's an excellent chef who believes in using seasonal ingredients. The menu changes slightly every week. Here are two recent entrees from the dinner menu: Mint marinated lamb roast with chickpea fries and grilled onion relish; seared duck breast with red lentil pancake, grilled bok choy and tamarind sauce. The fish entrees are absolutely delicious, as are all the salad dressings. Dinner entrees are in the $17 to $28 range. The restaurant is open for lunch as well, with smaller portions and lower prices than dinner. At lunch I recommend the Merguez Moroccan lamb sausage sandwich. Reservations are suggested for dinner (908-206-9911). The restaurant is closed Mondays and on the Sabbath. |

My husband and I ate lunch at Mosaica at the beginning of the summer and we were delighted with the food. It was fresh, delicious and the presentation was good. We just haven't had a chance to get back there but we're planning to return soon. |
